“BEING A JEWELRY DESIGNER IS SO FANTASTIC AND FABULOUS MOST OF THE TIME, BUT WHAT PEOPLE DON’T SEE IS THIS PART OF NITTY GRITTY RAW UNFINISHED METALS AND UNPOLISHED SURFACES. WITH A LOT OF LOVE AND A LOT OF WORK, AND A LOT OF PASSION AND DETAIL, ALL OF A SUDDEN EVERYTHING COMES TOGETHER TO CREATE SOMETHING BEAUTIFUL AND SHINY AND SPARKLY.” - KRISTEN BAIRD

On our behind-the-scenes shoot for SCAD VM featuring artist & entrepreneur Kristen, her inspiring story and her beautiful designs.

We're always coming to life.  Or becoming a business.  And the present moment is the moment of happy accidents.  Orson Wells described good filmmaking as "a series of happy accidents."  This shot reveals the design of the fountain in our Forsyth Park.  The area took a new shape and color thanks to the wondrous "snow day".  The drone flew over not intentionally, but by discovery.  And that's where life is, where creativity lives: in discovery.  We wish you a year of creativity, insight, growth and miracles, as you reflect on the design of your present, your past, and the future we all share.

STEVE AISHMAN Interview | #scadatlanta

STEVE AISHMAN | “I strive to make work that reminds me of nothing.” Yes.  Yes.  YES!  This could be one of our all-time favorite quotes.  You will find it on the ‘Statement’ page of Steve’s website along with a host of creative adventures and inspirations (check out ‘Throwing Fast Food’).  We are grateful for the out-of-the-box moment to shoot an interview with Steve, who shared hisinsight into the thought process of designers, and the opportunities for developing our creative minds in the 21st century and beyond.  “Designers bridge the gap between critical thinking and critical making.” – Steve Aishman, Dean of Academics at SCAD Atlanta.  Thank you to SCAD VM Producer Jason Piccolo for a great interview shoot!  Check out www.steveaishman.com!
