This was filmed in August of 2002, the summer of after 9/11.  It was an adventure moving through New York City at that time. The city was still in a state of shock, gearing up to set course for new policies for its identity which, a decade later, is pretty different. This was an all systems ‘GO’ adventure from inception to shoot to editing – one I will always hold very, very close to my heart. Thank you to all the folks and crew who came out of nowhere to make this zany short film about anxiety (through a child’s mind).

The ‘elephant’ we created through sound design and camera angles as opposed to hiring a real elephant or creating the experience through visual effects. During the editing I remember talking to the lady at the corner store in Idyllwild, CA, who told me her son was blind, and experienced his entire world through sound. That helped greatly in the direction of the sound design. I wanted to make a film that if you were blind you could still enjoy and experience.  So here the experiment that is ‘Chasing The Elephant’….
